This full day tour is the best way to discover Panama City. On this tour you will visit:
- The Panama Canal (Miraflores Visitors' Center), this is where you can see up-close the operations of the canal and the transiting ships. There is also the canal museum and a short movie on the history and construction of the canal.
- Cerro Ancon, the highest peak in Panama City that offers breathtaking views of the city, the port and the Panama Canal. (Requires a 30-40 minutes walk uphill on paved road and another 20 minutes to go back down. Your guide will be waiting for you on the bottom of the hill at the begining of the path. We do offer alternative viewpoints should you not wish to walk up the hill.)
- Amador Causeway, one of the most beautiful places in Panama City. This tree-lined promenade, built from earth & rocks extracted during the canal construction, connects the mainland to four islands facing the city. With many local and international restaurants, this is a great place to have lunch with a nice view of the city skyline.
- Casco Viejo also called Casco Antiguo (the Old Town), this is the historic district of Panama City, built 1673 following the near-total destruction of the original Panamá city, Panamá Viejo.
You will also be able to see the Cinta Costera, Avenida Balboa, Las Americas Bridge and the Fish Market (Mercado de Mariscos).
