This full day tour, specially built for the canal enthusiasts, is all about the canal, the ships that transition the canal, its history, its expansion and more.
On this tour you will visit the following sights:
Panama Canal Agua Clara Locks Visitors Center, the new visitors center offers spectacular views of the new locks following the expansion of the canal, and also Lake Gatun. You will be able to see the operation of the Panama Canal and maybe post-panamax vessels transiting the locks.
- Panama Canal Puedro Miguel Locks, a short stop by the Pedro Miguel locks will allow you to see the 2nd sets of locks on the Pacific side. You will also get the chance to see the Centennial bridge, the 2nd bridge built over the Canal and the beginning of the Culebra Cut, the most narrow part of the Canal.
The Panama Canal (Miraflores Locks Visitors Center + IMAX), located right in front of the Miraflores locks on the Pacific side of Panama, this is where you can see up-close the operations of the canal and the transiting ships through one of the original locks.
(Please note that currently the Miraflores visitors center is going through a major renovation. Because of that, the museum and the top floor observation deck are currently closed. Only smaller balcony on a lower floor will be opened during the renovations.)
